First time here. Will definitely come back again. It's nice to sit next to the water and enjoy your meal. Watching the boats come in from the bay. Make sure you don't feed the birds! Shrimp PO-Boy was great, fries were crunchy and soft!

Had a wonderful breakfast here last weekend. I see the hype about the pancakes they’re super thin and delicious. The ambience was delightful. Arrived around 9am had to wait about 20-25min. Parking is a bit hard to find other than that I will definitely be coming back with family and friends.

We stopped by Gilchrist for breakfast and had the blueberry hotcakes, scrambled eggs, Italian sausage, and later tried the shrimp po’ boy. The Italian sausage was really good—probably my favorite thing on the breakfast plate. The scrambled eggs were pretty bland and could’ve used more seasoning. The blueberry hotcakes were good, fluffy, and enjoyable, but they weren’t anything particularly memorable. The biggest surprise was the shrimp po’ boy—it was actually delicious and ended up being my favorite item we ordered. Definitely worth trying. The waterfront view and relaxed atmosphere are what really make this place special. That said, one thing really took away from the experience: we were asked if we were ready to order or needed anything what felt like 10 different times, sometimes just seconds apart by different staff members. We appreciate attentive service, but this felt excessive and became distracting rather than helpful. Overall, I’d come back for the view and would happily order the shrimp po’ boy again, but I think the breakfast itself was average and the service could be a bit more coordinated.

The breakfast at Gilchrest was very tasty. The pancakes were awesome My wife got the plain pancakes and I got the peach. Peach was not worth it. They stuck some canned peaches in the center. Sounded nice then they actually were. Just go with the plain and you will be glad you did and they are great Service was not good. Not sure if it is because they do not assign tables to wait staff but our service was awful. Someone came right over to get our drink order. I got coffee and there were more creamers on the table then I have ever seen before, which I thought meant I would be getting a lot of coffee. I was wrong. Only person that got me a cup was the young gentleman cleaning tables and that was not his job. They also gave you a pitcher of water at your table. Seemed after the fact that was a sign that we are not really coming back to check on you with the exception of giving you your check As I said , pancakes were great and service was not, or at least for us on this trip

Went to AC to celebrate my/my buddys bdays and was looking for a solid breakfast to get jumpstart the weekend. Found this place via Gemini and it was a great frickin choice! So much so I had to bring my buddies back with me on Sunday for our last meal before leaving AC. Both days we had the same waitress—I think her name is Candy—and she was absolutely incredible! This gal was running around busting her butt doing literally everything: hostessing, waiting tables, bussing, and running the register. Despite being slammed, she CRUSHED it and took awesome care of us! For a classic diner breakfast with a great atmosphere, this is the spot. The outdoor seating is right on the water and the staff makes you feel right at home. It became an absolute must-visit for us. Huge props to Candy and the crew!
